Meet The Artist: Lezio Lopes
Discover the artistic story behind the limited edition collaboration from The White Lotus x CAMILLA. To help bring the collaboration to life, the in-house CAMILLA artisans partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and Sydney-based artist Lezio Lopes – the illustrator who worked with Plains of Yonder on The White Lotus opening credits.
Brazilian, Sydney-based print designer and illustrator Lezio Lopes is a CAMILLA kindred spirit. His evocative, deeply intriguing drawings hypnotised audiences, beckoning to viewers the world over and effortlessly capturing the essence of the series' tangled storylines.
"I fell in love with the richness and the detail of the illustrations in The White Lotus opening credits. I knew I had to seek out the artist behind them. Lezio's illustrations really capture an incredible sense of complexity in such a luscious way." – Camilla Franks.
When you combine an award-winning cult series, a globally celebrated fashion designer and a visionary illustrator... magic happens. What we’ve created is a fabulous fashion lovechild of luxury, travel and style.
"Lezio and I are kindred spirits, two artistic souls on the same path. There was creative alchemy from the moment we met. Together, we tumbled down the rabbit hole working closely to create three new prints that reimagine the three worlds of The White Lotus." – Camilla Franks.
LL: I thought about this tropical paradise. Every element has been hand painted with the key characters of the TV show in mind, and their wild, tangled storylines.
CF: How would you describe the three different creations?
CF: How did you bring that through in your illustrations?
LL: It varied depending on the season. For your Ready For My Welcome Drink print, I hand illustrated the tiger, snake, elephant and leopard. Season Three hadn’t been released yet at this stage, so I tried to capture the dark, jungle vibe of Thailand. The animals are definitely going to be among the tamer guests!
CF: The macaw and the Hawaiian figure in the shell were special creations, which you designed and illustrated just for these prints! There are so many little hidden details for fans to discover – for example, the figure in the shell is holding a White Lotus!
